We are seeking an experienced API Integration Lead to guide customers through onboarding, integration, and long-term connectivity with company's enterprise systems. This role is highly customer-facing and requires strong technical expertise in .NET, REST APIs, authentication frameworks, and event-driven integrations.
You will serve as the primary technical liaison between external partners and internal engineering teams, ensuring seamless data exchange, reliable system behavior, and an excellent customer integration experience.
Key Responsibilities
Customer-Focused Integration Leadership
- Serve as the technical point of contact for customer integration projects, guiding veterinary practices, partners, and enterprise clients through API adoption.
- Translate customer workflows and system requirements into scalable integration solutions within .NET-based ecosystem.
- Provide clear, actionable technical guidance to non-technical stakeholders and customer IT teams to ensure smooth onboarding.
API & System Integration
- Lead end-to-end integration design, implementation, testing, and deployment for customer systems connecting to APIs.
- Develop and optimize RESTful API and webhook-based solutions that support secure, reliable data exchange.
- Ensure compatibility between customer systems and company's platform, including mapping data models, defining integration contracts, and handling versioning.
- Work closely with internal engineering to influence API design, capabilities, and roadmap priorities.
.NET-Focused Technical Execution
- Utilize expertise in C#, .NET Core, and related frameworks to troubleshoot customer integration challenges and provide solutions quickly.
- Collaborate with platform engineering to build integration utilities, SDKs, tools, or reference implementations.
Security, Reliability & Observability
- Implement and support industry-standard authentication mechanisms (OAuth2, JWT, mTLS).
- Ensure integrations meet company standards for security, performance, and resiliency.
- Establish and maintain observability measures (logs, metrics, alerts, dashboards) to reduce MTTR and increase rollout confidence.
Operational Excellence & Support
- Lead integration readiness for new customer rollouts, including sandbox validation, production cutovers, and post-go-live support.
- Participate in on-call rotation to handle high-severity integration issues, partnering with engineering and SRE teams for rapid resolution.
- Maintain high-quality documentation including API specs (OpenAPI/Swagger), implementation guides, and troubleshooting playbooks.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience with API development, integration engineering, or customer integration leadership.
- Strong proficiency in C#, .NET Core, REST APIs, and JSON-based services.
- Hands-on experience with API authentication mechanisms such as OAuth2, JWT, mTLS, and token-based security.
- Solid understanding of API gateways (APIM, Kong, Apigee) and cloud platforms (Azure or AWS).
- Experience integrating 3rd-party systems and partnering closely with external client development teams.
- Strong troubleshooting abilities and comfort supporting production systems.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate complex concepts for both technical and business audiences.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in veterinary, healthcare, lab information systems, or other regulated data environments.
- Knowledge of event-driven architecture and message queues.
- Familiarity with CI/CD workflows and DevOps tools (Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions).
- Certifications such as Azure Developer, AWS Developer, or similar.
What Success Looks Like
- Customers integrate with company's systems faster and with fewer defects.
- API reliability and scalability improve through better standards and observability.
